Acer N35 - problem getting GPS to work with TT3

Hiya,

I've been playing with this piece of equipment for 2 days now. Initially I didn't like Destinator 3 so I took it off and installed TT3 - but the GPS wouldn't work properly and I kept getting "GPS position unreliable". Couldn't get anywhere so reinstalled Destinator 3. I still don't like it though, and want to put TT5 on it instead. Not sure though what to do as the GPS wouldn't work with TT3 how can I expect it to work with TT5?

I don't want to take it back as it's quite a good piece of kit, I'd just like a better software.....

Help!!?!?!

Hi,

Just worked this out. It is to do with the gps settings, TOMTOM has to know what receiver you are using. With the acer the GPS settings is under programmes and is as follows

Top line TomTom Navigator GPS
Second Line GPS on NAVIGATOR

Make sure you also check the blue box next to the settings when finished

Use forum "search" for Acer N35 - that will provide all the setup info you need.

I use TT5 on an Acer N35 and its fine (apart from an issue with delayed TTFF on cloudy days).
