Just ordered my Go 500

hiya all
have just registered on here - seems like a good place for advice on my new purchase

indeed it was a couple of things said on here that made me decide on the 500 instead of the 300

have ordered it from comet £468 inc vat - they price beat pc world
only by a £1 but i had some vouchers i had to use at comet

should get it on monday

So any advice i need so i dont Go gung ho by not reading instructions etc and making a pigs ear of setting it up

First thing is to back up the SD card to your computer. TomTom do not supply a copy on a CD. Do the backup by opening the GO as a removable drive and dragging the whole contents (incl. hidden files) to a folder on our PC.

Record the Product Code of your SD card and get the activation code from www.ttcode.com You won't need this (card is pre-activated) now, but may during subsequent upgrades or disaster recovery.
