Frozen map 2d View

Does anyone know of a cure or reason for a frozen screen display in 2D view? 3D works OK, but the two dimensional view shows my position moving with the map remaining constant, unitil the arrow moves right off the screen! Have had the 510 only 10 days and so far very pleased with it till I hit this problem yesterday.
The on/off switch also appears a bit temperamental sometimes reqiuring 5/6 press to switch off, but I can live with that.

2D mode works in two ways, as a frozen map or following where you are going. Press the ESC key when in 2D mode to take it out of manual and you should be fine.
