I've finally got all my kit which includes a full version of TomTom Mobile 5 with a Great Britain map and a TomTom Navigator 5 upgrade which includes all the maps of Western Europe.
When I go on holiday (lets say to France) I would like to be able to install the map of France on my phone. Is this possible? And if so how would I go about it? Particularly with regard to activation.
I see no legal issues with this I have paid for both the navigator and mobile software and the maps that come with them.

Hi MarkHewitt,
I’ve had a look at the back of the upgrade pack. It says "This package includes the new feature-rich TomTom GO, Navigator 5 or Mobile 5 software and the latest maps from TeleAtlas".
The maps will work with either the Navigator 5 (PPC) or Mobile 5. However, I suspect that you will only be able to activate them once, on either your mobile or PPC – definitely not on both devices.
Also once you active one of the maps (say France) on a device, you will only be able to use the rest of the maps on that same device.

Okay now I'm even more confused. What's the process of 'activating' a map anyway? I only got the activation numbers with my Navigator upgrade and with mobile, no map numbers?
Also I've installed the Great Britain Plus map on Navigator, does this mean the France map is now locked out from installing on Mobile?

Hi MarkHewitt,
You get one Product Code in the upgrade pack, which relates to all Navigator 5 maps of TomTom Western Europe. So when you installed Navigator 5 and GB map onto your PPC that Product Code (for all countries) was allocated to that set-up. When you add additional maps (say Spain) you’ll not need to use the product code to active the maps.
Your Product Code for Mobile 5 is probably only a single country one, even though you have the maps for Western Europe on CD, you may not be able to add them to your Mobile.
