Advice for a novice

Hi All,
Could anyone offer any advice?
I have an ASUS MYPAL A620T with MS Pocket PC v4.2, which I want to use for Sat Nav in my car. I have been given a Tom Tom v3 which seems to operate fine. I would now like to buy a GPS. I like the look of the compact flash types but I'm unsure if they would work with my PDA, the idea of just plugging it to the PDA seems appealing? Also does the CF with the GPS allow you to save data on it? For example I have had to buy a larger CF to fit the maps from Tom Tom.
