Backup or not to backup?

I will be touring europe this summer and will be using my TTG with MOWE etc all on a 1GB card.

Has anyone had a problem where the card gets corrupt and have had to reload everything?

It occurs to me what if this happens mid journey, I would be stuffed!

Is it overkill to buy another 1GB card and have as a backup for the tour?

backup is always a good idea. At the very least copy the contents of the SD card to a folder on your desktop computer. a second 1 GB card is of course much better on the road.
