ArcPad & GPS locations

I am setting up arcpad 6 on an ipaq 4700 with a fortuna bluetooth clip-on gps. All seems to be good.

The gps is recognised by arcpad and a location is plotted but this is approximately 70 meters from the where it would be expected.

I am using os 1:1250 landline tiles which have been registered in arcgis to osgb36. Arcpad & the gps have been set to osgb36 in the ipaq but I am consistently off plot. Can anyone suggest where I may be missing something?

Don't know your software, but when you're this far off in the UK my first suspicion would always be that your GPS is on one datum (typically WGS84) and your mapping software is on another (typically OSGB36). You don't mention what model GPS you're using, but could it be that you've set it to display it's position in OSGB36 but it is still transmitting that position to the PDA in WGS84?
