I have recently ordered a 1GB CF card which I intend to load TTN5 Maps and my 2210 backups onto. Rather than use the card straight from the box should I format it first (I have the latest version of StorageTools on my 2210). If so, I have been using FAT32/512Bytes with Backup FAT box ticked for my present SD Card. Do you think these parameters are ok?

Cheers

Tom

There are some comparison tables on the web with different FAT versions and cluster sizes. But I think this all doesn't matter much for the task at hand which is reading large chunks of static data. The make and speed of the CF card has more influence than the cluster characteristics.

CF cards work differently from SD cards, you cannot compare them directly.

Thanks Lutz. If it doesn't really matter then I will apply the same parameters as listed in my original posting.

Thanks again.

Tom
