Choose the maps to download carefully! Try to get maps where you need lots of detail (e.g. navigating through sities). Don't bother downloading maps where you're on, say, an Interstate road for ages.

I just purchased the Garmin GPS V deluxe. I am taking a trip from New Jersey to Arizona in a couple of weeks, by car. I plot the route on the MapQuest City Select, but do I also need to upload the individual maps along the traveled route? I dont think 19mb will be enought to store all the maps needed. Please help me...Thanks. |

I take it you mean MapSource City Select ?
I've never tried creating the route on a PC before and downloading it, but the help file suggests once you've plotted the route, and gone to SAVE TO DEVICE, just tick the MAPS option and at the bottom of this dialog box you should see an option called INCLUDE ROUTE CALCULATION DATA FROM MAPS.
I'm not entirely sure if you have to select the map area also for download, or whether it will just download the maps required for the trips planned. |
