major roads of europe - France in particular

has anyone got experierience of using MRE in France.

going on hols & will be driving around Brittany & La Rochelle area.

how major is "major" does this mean like our A roads and motorways etc?

are they ok for getting around or is it worth investing in the full maps?

Yes it covers all Autoroutes and N roads, and a surprising number of D roads too. You can test the coverage at home before you leave by using the itinerary function to plan some routes

Try using MRE in this country. The only problem I found was when the road was closed and we went on a "deviation". The signs always disappeared after the first one, and we ended driving around till we found another major road. TomTom calculated a new route then. Happened twice last year. I should have stopped and loaded the French maps, but you know what it is like with fiddling with technology with the other half sitting alongside moaning......

This year I will load the French map while on the ferry.
