acer n35 vs 1GB SD card

i'm not sure, but i think my N35 cannot use the last 512MB from my SD card, i keep getting a write error when i have 580MB available, can somebody confirm this?

Have you tried formatting it with something like "Storage tools" which can be downloaded as a trial from this site? It's a worthwhile piece of software.

i formated the card in my pc, and i got 512MB available, and now i cannot get my 1GB card back, even if i try to format it in my pda. I changed my 1Gb card into a 512 MB. Smart!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any ideias how can i undo this mistake???

If you format it correctly, you should get the full amount - or actually it is less than that expected but not that much. Sounds to me like you have a faulty card.

do you know any sw, that i can use to format the sd card in the PC?

Provided you have a card reader for the PC I'd try using Disk managent for the formatting (presuming you have XP).

This can be found in;
Control panel>Performance and Maintenance>Administrative Tools>Computer Managment (local)

Then look in 'Storage' for 'Disk managment'. This will give you the best options for formatting I think.
