|
|
I get a really annoying error logo (red triangle with exclamation mark in it) and "beep" sound whilst navigating on my versin 3.0 mapsonic and zire 31 system.
It then takes about 5-10 mins to refresh by itself, at which point i have missed the turn off or road i was heading for etc... :x
Does anyone else have this problem or know what it could mean?
Ive now DLed the 3.2 patch to see if it fixes it? |

From Main Menu go to Settings
Select POI from Settings menu
In POI Menu select POI Alerter
If you want none of the POI alerts then select "Deselect All" otherwise just uncheck the ones you don't want |

How about the fact that it crashes afterwards? Seems to give me the warning and then go into a state of poor response time such as telling me where to turn after i have actually gone past the turning etc.. Then it takes 5-10mins to re-route and freezes up? I thne have to pull over and shove a pin the back to reset the damn thing
I've had nothing but trouble with the sodding thing . Worst £250 ive ever spent, so im trying to get my monies worth out of it and try and get it all patched up and in full working order. |

Are you running other programmes at the same time? It sounds like a memory problem to me. When using your PDA for navigation, surely the navigation is the most imoprtant thing so before you fire it up, ensure that all other programmes are closed down and then check there are no programmes running in the background.
Just suggestions - not sure if this is your problem. |

Not sure then. I used to have a Palm and it was always having problems which only HARD resets would solve. This was why I jacked it in for a Pocket PC instead. Perhaps there is a software clash.
I'm afraid that I can't help any further - perhaps someone else has solved the same problem that you are having on a Palm. |

Does the problem continue if all of the POI warnings are turned off? It ay be that one category within the POI file has become corrupt causing the problem. Alternatively people in the past have questioned whether the Zire 31 is actually powerful enough/has enough RAM for the application. If it is a memory problem then physically removing some of the applications from the Zire may free up enough space to make it run properly. |
