Hope this is the right place for this.
Does anybody know if there is any way of loading Memory Maps (or other)
onto the Nokia 6600.
I am sure there is a huge market out there for walking etc, without having to resort to using a dedicated gps (like Garmin).

At the moment there is no way to get OS maps on the 6600 or any other mobile phone.
This is an area that Memory-Map are aware of ( I have mentioned it a couple of times) but I have not heard about any intentions to create a phone edition yet. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Wouldn't storage space be a reason Memory Map haven't done it, Loaded a section of OS 1:50k region 2 SE England onto the SD Card and it took up 109.7mb of space. _________________ Graham.

Storage is no more of an isseu thsn with PDAs. You can get 2GB MMC cards for the 6600 so that is not a problem. It would more likely be an issue with processor power. But even then the 6600 can run TomTom without problems. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Thanks, thats great
This App is part way to what I need as it actually tracks you and
records your speed. O ly a matter of time before a commercial map
will be available.

Good news for all wishing to use OS maps on their Nokia 6600
Thanks to SJ, I purchased for $19 from the Handango site :-
www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=159244
A programme called GPSXC. This programme allows you to download via
GPRS your present OS location and works a dream. Like all download maps you have of course to calibrate. You can also scan and download your own maps via the Map menu.
Hope this is of use.
