eBay seller uncle_sams Gun Shoot Out

Bought a silvershield mount from them Sad

It was clearly advertised specifically to fit IPAQ 2210. Laughing

When it arrived, they had sent me one for a IPAQ 39XX. Crying or Very sad

emailed them and pointed out their mistake.
They said THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE. Question

But my IPAQ does not seat properly in it. Grrrr

emailed them again and asked them to replace it with the correct item, or if not, were they willing to pay any repair costs if my IPAQ was broken in this mount. Police

Again, I asked them to send the correct one as advertised, but they wanted me to return the one they had sent, saying THEY DID NOT TRUST ME, 8O 8O 8O and wanted me to pay another £7.99 postage. Stop it!

Told them to GO BOIL THEIR HEADS ( Censored

or words to that effect)
They then left negative feedback about me Embarassed

saying I did not know how to use the item Embarassed

and telling people how helpful they had been Question

.
Looking at their feedback, it seems anyone who has a problem (caused by them) is incompetent or just plain thick.

I CERTAINLY WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THESE VERY RUDE, INSOLENT PEOPLE AGAIN. Gun Shoot Out

I hate to say this but the mount you have should be the correct one. The Silver Shield mounts differ only in the mounting connector piece at the bottom. As the iPAQ 3970 and 2210 share the same connector (as do most of the iPAQ's) then you should have the correct item.

Where does it not fit properly? Unfortunately whilst you may get rock bottom prices on eBay you also get zero customer service, that's why its cheap.

Out of interest, how much did you pay? PDA Mods sell them for £28.19.

I think I paid £19.99 plus £7.99 P&P and NO they are not the same.

1.When fitted the 2210 it had a gap at the back and rattles around, this may damage the IPAQ after a while. I had to fit two pieces of rubber behind to stop this.

2. If they are the same why did they very kindly ask me to return it so they could replace the pins with the one for a 2210 (all at my expense of course) ?

The thickness of the 39xx and 22xx is different, so I suspect that if you have ordered a mount holder with a connector on it, then the connector maybe placed slightly forward to cater for the 39xx added thickness with standard/cf sleeve.

Did it occur to you that if this seller is selling as a business, as opposed to being a casual or hobby seller then the distance selling regulations apply in full to them, and you, as the buyer have the right to return the item for a full refund whether it is faulty or not. So saying you would be liable for the cost of postage in both directions still.

Just a thought
