I have just spent the last 4 hours updateing the LPG pins in mappoint but cannot convert them to tomtom because they are placed by hand and not by Lat/Long. The old pins all done with Lat/Long so they convert easy, but my new ones wont. how can I add these to the database? do I have to input the Lat/Long for each one? I hope there's an easy fix, or I've wasted 4 hours!!

Does MapPoint use the same format as Autoroute? If you save the file, does it save with an .axe extension? If so, you can use Oldie's POIConverter, which is available from here.

no, it uses .ptm extension. Mappoint allows you to convert .axe to .ptm, but not the other way around.

There is more information here, although I've emailed Oldie to ask him how easy it might be to add MapPoint compatibility to his POIConverter programme. His app. uses the st2gpx application mentioned in the link.

Oldie's reply is that MapPoint is already supported.

MapPoint PTM files are already supported. Select AutoRoute for the input file and any PTM files in the folder will show as well.

Get the latest version of POIConverter here. It's a newer version than the one on PGPSW.
