|
|
I have had an "event" with my 4700, as a result of a sharp knock it froze and needed to be placed in its cradle to bring it back to life. It was completely reset.
I reloaded everything and all works well again except Tomtom cant see my Holux 231 bluetooth. (Bluetooth to mobile phone works fine)
I have it setup and paired in Bluetooth manager but niether Tomtom or the Gps viewer tool that came with the Holux can see it (even if I connect manually in Bluetooth manager and the Holux goes to fast blue flashing indicating a connection).
One puzzle is that Tomtom GPS Status used to see two Bluetooth ports Com 5 and Com 8 now all it shows is Com 5. I can't recall which I used to use.
Any ideas? When I first got the Holux I just paired it and away we went.
Thanks.

Start > Settings > Communications > Bluetooth > Services > Serial Port > Advanced
Make sure the outgoing port is enabled _________________ Lutz

It says Inbound COM Port: 5 Outbound COM Port 8.
I don't appear to be able to change these (it shows the Holux as the default device for outgoing serial connection) but Tomtom GPS only shows Port 5, Im sure it used to show Com 8 also but I can't recall which I used.
Thanks

Correct - you need to use COM8. If that's not available then you need to uninstall the TomTom GPS driver ONCE, soft reset, and then try again.

Thanks, tried that (deleted Tomtom GPS via Activesync) - result was that GPS Viewer could see the Holux!
Bad news though Tomtom wont start!
Deleted all of Tomtom and reisnstalled it now I'm back where I was... Tomtom works but doesn't offer me a COM 8 option and GPS viewer says it can't open COM 8.
I feel I'm so close. Argh!

I've removed the TT GPS via Remove Programs on the iPAQ but it doesn't come back - it just goes!
I have only removed it once since a complete reinstall. Version is 3.00 BTW.
I had it all working without this step before my hard reset.

I've just loaded 3.07 and it all works!
Thanks for your help.
