I've played around with several versions of the CP6 speed camera files (OVP format)
I've tried single file for all cameras, multi files by type etc etc.
In many cases, I've edited the OVP file to remove the '@' and replace with ' AT '.
However, the only setup I found that worked was leaving the '@' and staying on default driving profile.
Until this week, that is.....
I tried downloading the CP5 camera files, which download as CSV files. I opened them in Excel, and played with wording a little, and found something novel.
I changed the 'gatsoxxxx' to 'Gatso camera' and the 'AT ' to ' in speed limit ', which means I now get a warning something like:
Quote: | Speed Camera 1 of 1 - approaching Gatso camera in speed limit 40 |
Much better, I think
If you want to test different wordings, use the CP6 demo, which rather conveniently has at least two cameras on its short route into Wisbech. |

Since this new way of downloading camera's I get commas, underscores, and all sorts of stuff announced. It's a real pain. I am using CP6, would you havge any ideas what files I should download that don't have all that stuff in them? |

Yup - just download the CP5 single file with all cameras
Then import it into the CP6 desktop application using the CP6 POI import
Then download the map (which includes the POIs) to your PDA
job done
Takes a fair bit longer than the OVP files, but seeing as the CP5 download is a CSV file, its easy to edit out all the rogue characters |

Thanks for that.
It seems a little long winded to someone of my capabilities though!
It was much easier previously so why have they made it so difficult I wonder? |
