Hi, Having just downloaded the latest Safety camera update, I checked in my files/folders to check all was well, how ever can anyone confirm that this is correct..
In the Great-Britain-navigator file I have all the cameras plus a couple of other POI's i required..BUT looking in the Great-Britain-Map file, I noticed that the cameras (ov2+bitmaps) download is also here?
Also, I have a file titled 'PocketGPS-UK-sc' , within the TomTom main folder...again with just the camera downloaded...question is, can I delete all these and just keep the Navigator file updated?? Please confirm, cheers.

The file titled 'PocketGPS-UK-sc' is from the 'good old days' when there was only 1 safety camera file.

Do you have 2 map folders?
Check the date stamp of a file in one folder and compare with the same file in the other. The one with the latest date is the required set.
If you remove the old ones and then can't see them on the map you've got the latest ones in the wrong folder.
If you've got two map folders you can delete one, the one without your poi's. _________________ Richard

Hi Richard,
Yes the two folders I have are 'Great_Britain Navigator Map' which contains all my POI's and camera download only, and then the other folder ..'Great-Britain-Map' contains only two files called 'Great_Britain.mms' and 'Great-Britain_Map.cfg'
Do I need to keep these or are they surplus to requirements? Cheers

Sounds as if you have deleted some essentials. You need one GB Map folder. It should have this lot in it:
Great_Britain.pna
Great_Britain.mms
CLINE.DAT
POI.DAT
MAPINFO.DAT
CNODE.DAT
CNAME.DAT
Great_Britain.mid
Great-Britain-Map.cfg
FACES.DAT
Plus all the PoIs in the same folder. |

This is where I have to be careful. I look inside my GO via an Apple Mac. There is, I believe, some setting on a Windows PC that makes files invisible?
Best wait for a PC man, just to be sure. Even the name of the Map folder may be critical and you could have to name it exactly right with all the hyphens and /or underscores in the right place. |

Yes, you can delete the Great-Britain-Map that contains only 2 files.

When you re-installed them they should have gone on the GO!

It might not have been fully functional tho. If there is spare space on the card it should not freeze up.[/url] _________________ Richard

I've never done it that way before, but if you have everything in a folder on your PC, you should be able to just copy the whole folder to SD card.
You would have to delete all that's on the card because there might be duplicates and you could run out of memory. So copy all the poi's you want to save, to the PC first. _________________ Richard
