I am currently running V2, and am thinking of buying V3, mainly for the extra features of POI (speed camera) addition, and A-B via CD routing.

But i have question regarding a route programmed via C and D. I know with my current V2 if i deviate from its recommended route it will recalculate and still get me to my destination, but with V3 if i use a via destination that i deviate around will it try to keep getting me back to that via point rather than just then routing me to my final destination??????

Are there any other advantages to buying V3, as I started with V1 and seem to have to keep buying new packages approx every 1.5 years, are there no upgrade paths???????

My current set up is an IPAQ 3870 with Navman sleeve jacket 3450.

Any advice much appreciated.

Dave

V3 will indeed try to keep routing you back to the missed waypoint, although I have never run it past the next waypoint after the missed one, to see if it still tries to route you back, or then routes you onwards (as Garmin CitySelect does).

However, there is an option to skip waypoints. I can't remember the exact details since I haven't the Trip function for a while, but it isn't hard to do.

As for upgrades, when the Team were at CeBit I got them to ask the question of Navman. The response was that Navman were happy that their product was worth the full price every time. Having said that, I do know of people (one personally) who have successfully negotiated a oneoff price by purchasing directly from the Navman Store.
