sd card reader problems

dont know if i can ask this question on here please delete if not ok
been using a card reader to load files for use with tomtom3 and gps world camera database and all of a sudden stoped working
getting 'disc write protected' when its not
can still load vis pda but takes longer so know card is ok
any ideas?
or just a knackered card reader?
ps tried another usb port

Don't know whether you are using Windows XP, but earlier versions of Windows require the installation of a driver for the card reader. Perhaps your driver has become corrupted - if you still have the CD it might be worth trying to reinstall it

problem sorted
faulty 'lock' switch on card
have to put it halfway between lock and unlock to get card reader to allow access
weird eh
