Hi
Being totally new to pocket pc and gps I could do with some help setting up.
I have an Axim X50V
Globalsat 308
Tomtom3

I cannot seem to pick up a signal from the receiver, as the 308 is not listed in the tt3 menu I have tried various other devices and ports but no luck.
Am I doing something silly?
Please HELP

I don't have that specific BT receiver, but I do have a Fortuna BT. Before you can communicate with the GPS you need to "pair" the PDA and the GPS. Have you done this yet?

My GPS shows up as "Bluetooth Serial Port COM7:" and "Bluetooth Serial Port COM8:" in TomTom GPS. I use COM7 (COM8 doesn't work, I don't know what it is or what it's for) and I've set the comms to NMEA 38400.

Most Pocket PCs have two Bluetooth serial ports. One is for outgoing connections - connections to another Bluetooth device - that's the one you use with a Bluetooth GPS. The other is for connections from another Bluetooth device, and cannot be used to connect to a Bluetooth GPS.

Usually the Bluetooth software on the Pocket PC will tell you which is which, though you've a 1 in 2 chance of guessing correctly!

Each different Pocket PC uses different COM port numbers for these functions.
