i've got the poi's to import ok but am not sure how to make autoroute 2002 include them in a calculated route.

I'm due to get a pda setup mid month (whenever my bonus goes in) but still need to use autoroute,. so it would be handy to know what lies ahead.

the help section as usual isnt much help. Sad

You cannot influence the routing decision in Autoroute with POIs. You will see which cameras are on your route, but you cannot create a route that would avoid camera locations. For that you need MapPoint where you can specify avoid areas etc. programmatically.

i think you misunderstand my question, with the POI's imported, they do not show up on the route,

i have tried this on several calculated local routes that pass speed cams (which show up on the map) but they have no mention made to them on the actual route.

like i say when i calculate a route into unfamiliar areas, i'd like the route to tell me that i'm about to drive into a speed trap, round the next bend. But it dosent.

of course. POIs are not part of any route, and they do not show up in any other program's route list either.

You need to manage your expectations better ;-) All you can get today is proximity warnings. Maybe tomorrow's programs, with further LBS focus, will do what you expect.
