BR305 with my desk top PC

got a BR305 which i use with a Mitac 338 , can i also use it with my desk top PC if i load the tom tom software on to my hard drive , seems at one section to have the same plug as my mouse !!

No, TomTom doesn't work on the desktop.

What type of receiver is the BR305? If serial then you may be able to craft a connector cable and use other programs like Deluo Routis etc.

Good news is that your hardware will work with the laptop. For your Globalsat BR305 you can simply buy a PS2 to USB cable and install the necessary drivers from the disk supplied with your receiver.
