How do these two products compare? Has anyone used them both and is able to give their thoughts on how they stack up?
I have a Tungsten T3 and a BT GPS combination and I plan to do some traveling around Europe.

I can get them online respectively for:
- Navman 4470 (Software only) with Euromaps = 330,00 €
- ViaMichelin Navigation Europe = 199,00 €

Initially I was pretty keen on the Navman 4470 SmartST3 due to the fact that it will apparently route across borders whereas Mapsonic will not. However 130,00 € seems a high premium to pay for this feature. There is a free DEMO version of Mapsonic so I can TRY BEFORE I BUY whereas I have not been able to the same for the Navman 4470.
The Navman 4470 is Palm Only whereas I believe the Mapsonic package comes with Palm, PPC and PC software included. ie you can run the mapstore PC map clipping app on a laptop with GPS and use it as a solution without a PDA. Mapsonic ties in with other viaMichelin products like the Green guide. Apparently the Mapsonic "vehicles" parameters is buggy and does not work properly when set to pedestrian. As there is no DEMO of the Navman stuff I have not really been able to get an appreciation of how it works.

So prior to parting with my money I would really appreciate some opinions and suggestions from anyone who has had the opportunity to try them both.

Thanks..

BTW I did consider:
Tom Tom - however I cannot buy the European maps without buying the TomTom Navigation software separately.
Mapopolis - Price is good but the interface is not for me.
