BR305 power

I've recently purchased a BR305 gps mouse for use with my Ipaq3630.
The lead that is going to come with it can also be used for charging the ipaq via a cigarette lighter in a car.

What I would like to know is can I use the ipaq3630/BR305 combination while on foot? ie without it being plugged into the cig lighter for power. Will the ipaq provide enough power to run the BR305? The ipaq has a dual pcmcia jacket with extra battery if that makes any difference?

If so can I use the same lead or will I need another lead to do this?

One last question.... If this isn't possible by just using the lead is there any kind of external power supply I could use whilst on foot? Some kind of extra battery pack maybe?

The iPAQ will net provide sufficient power tot he receiver. But a cheap power extender (basically a plastic box that can hold 4 AA batteries) will be able to power the receiver, the iPAA, or both

You will have to craft the cable a bit that comes with the power extender (for example get a Y-cable, too). Don't try to use the cable that came with the cigarette lighter - it's too bulky, and may drain power, too.
