Location of GPS Specialists

I know there are plenty of companies on the internet but is there any way of finding GPS specialists in my Local area.

I would like the chance to look around and then talk to someone about the differant products that actually knows what they are talking about.

I am in Doncaster, South Yorkshire so would be interested in Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, Leeds etc.

You cannot just lok in BT or Thomson local Books, not listed.

I haven't been into one in ages so I don't know how good their knowledge is, but Maplin sells GPS equipment from Garmin, Navman and Tomtom, and possibly others. They have a store in Doncaster at

Visited the one in Doncaster yesterday but they only had a couple of Garmin's in and the lads, by their own admission, didn't really know a lot.

I have visited the one in Leeds some time ago, was looking at in car DVD's then rather than GPS so I do not know what they have, will call in there next time I am in Leeds.

I had a meeting in Birmingham the other day, and whilst feeling my way back to the M1 without my trusty sat nav, my TT BT receiver "is no more" I noticed a sign on a shop on the opposite side of the dual carriageway which had signs stating Alpine/ kenwood etc but also stated Sat Nav systems.

I was in the wrong lane of 3 lanes of heavy traffic and did not want to start turning around, but this set me thinking about the possibility of similar stores in my area
