Extrac1 vs. Extrac2

I hope this is a question that will help a lot of folks.
I have a Belkin BT GPS and have seen a lot of posts regarding upgrading to Extrac 2. It seems like some folks have no problems and some have a great deal of difficulty.
Before I leap off and try it, can someone please explain the advantages version 2 has over version 1. - is it really a big improvement?

XTrac II is somewhat different to the original XTrac.

Unfortunately I've no experience of the original version of XTrac to have any first hand comparisons, but it seems that people agree that XTrac II is superior for in-car use, but there's some concern that it's not as good for low speed use, such as when walking.
