Hi

On trying to connect my girlfriends 1910 to the set up in my car (Haicom wired GPS) I cannot get any GPS signal. My 5450 uses com1 but the 1910 doesn't have that as an option. The 1910 only has com3 or serial on USB. I've tried both these options but with no luck. Presumably the cable doesn't need to be changed as long as it physically fits to the 1910? Any suggestions.

cheers
Neil

The iPAQ 1910 has no serial port. The only way to connect a GPS to this model is to track down an infrared connection system. There's a couple around - one is made by Haicom.

Thanks David I vaguely remember that this was an issue on some models. It does beg the question - what does the "serial on USB" option refer to then?

As an aside - on TT GPS, GPS tab what does the slider on the left do - it vaies from what looks like "snooze" to "Tom Tom"

Many thanks

I believe that option is sometimes useful - but can't think which GPS hardware it may work with.

I'm afraid I haven't fully kept up with the situation with the older 1900 series models - the 1940 has Bluetooth, so most people use that with a Bluetooth GPS.

One thing is certain - the GPS you have already will not work with the 1910.
