This link may be helpful if you're looking to use a Brodit mount for power and gps connection - its in German but there is a clear illustration

Or better still, direct from the Brodit website here.

I have of course seen the Brodit site but as a mere simpleton found the illustration showing the receiver connection helpful - you'll be amazed how many people I have spoken to couldn't give a clear answer as to whether the tx / rx / 5v lead could power and connect to a wired receiver.

Perhaps its my ignorance or perhaps the retailers were not able to explain clearly......

Sorry, I wasn't mocking your post, I was merely pointing to the English product description Smile

I have one of these in my Discovery and although I don't connect to a GPS using the break-out box I do use a Brodit accessory lead which connects to it to provide a charge source for my BT GPS.

It will of course connect to a GPS, has Tx, Rx and 5v and Brodit have a range of adapters to interface to all the common GPS Mouse Connectors e.g. TomTom/Leadtek's RJ11.
