Like a lot of people I got the Aldi Medion bundle, which I believe is just a re-badged Mitac Mio 168. So far all has worked great!

However, one small annoyance I have is that the cigarette lighter socket on my car is right next to the handbrake (on drivers side). This means that when I connect the power adapter cable from the lighter socket to the Medion (when it's mounted) it stretches across both the handbrake and gear-nob, which can be quite annoying (and perhaps a little dangerous too).

So, I was wondering how long a fully-charged battery would safely last without plugging it in (ie. on battery-power alone) when navigating - with GPS on, screen at say 50% brightness, one 512MB SD card and running TT3 and CheckPOInt with sound? Would I be OK for 2 or 3 hour journeys?

I tested it with full brightness and full processor load and it lasted for 4 hrs 45 minutes.

Cool! Thanks very much for the info, that's longer than I expected. Looks like for most journeys I can manage without the tyranny of the lighter-lead Smile
