new Sysonchip install

Just purchased a sysonchip cf card 512. I installed the driver, but when I plug in the CF card nothing happens, no lights or alarms to say I connected.

I downloaded visualGPS ce to check, and after about 10 minutes in the Garden a red light came on and started flashing. After another 10 minutes I had a few satellites and a red solid light.

Will it always take this long to find a position??

The card is a 512 meg CF sysonchip from globalpositioning, i presume this uses the xtrac II although it looks a little disimilar to the regular one figured on the site with no onboard memory.

Im a little disappointed, I thought this would all be a bit easier to install and use?

im using it on a loox720, and it all seems a but random, I suppose If I purchased a full application such as memory-map navigator, this will let me use and fiddle with the full settings which I can't seem to access without any software?

USing a variety of software it did work in the end.

Left it outside for 1/2 hour attached to PDA and it got 9 sats.

In the end I did send it back, have decided on a bluetooth unit as I do a lot of mountain biking and hiking i didnt want pda in hand with unit on.
