Does any know if it is possible to have the TTG to inform you when you enter a new speed limit, or, instead of the "tone" it plays when alerting you to an upcoming speed camera it could also tell you the speed limit (by voice) ??

Thanks

No it cannot do that. I am not sure that the sppeds on the roads are actually in the mapping database.

Strict speed limits are not required as the routing is calculated using the class of road and assigning nominal limits to the class. This is one of the features that users are requesting to be able to adjust the speeds for the road class to enable them to tailor the routing to suit their road preferences.

This would be a nightmare to keep up to date. Considering that most GPS systems have problems keeping their maps up to date, there is virtually no hope of having accurate speed limits in your GPS database.

You would feel really hard done by that you saw a scamera, the GPS said it was a national speed limit and it turns out that the limit had been recently reduced to 40 MPH. Crying or Very sad

The best that we can do with the current technology is treat it's routing directions and camera warning as ADVISORY AT BEST. The only authoritive indication of a speed limit change is the big round sign with the new speed limit written on it. Wink

Skippy - don't feel hard one by at all, simply a question to establish the current limitations of the GPS system and the future possibilities.
