I would like to buy a Reciever that ill fit in my SD Card slot, but they all look very flimsey and I am concerned that the will catch on something and break off where the card meets the reciever. Is this a known problem. Or are they provided with means of maing them secure ans safe from damage. |

Why buy an SD format receiver if you have a CF Slot? They are more expensive than comparable CF GPS Receivers and yes they are bound to be more fragile because of the format. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, but what I trying to find out is how vunerable are Recievers that push into the card slot. Im concerned that when Im carrying it on foot that it can easily be caught or knocked and it appears that it could break where the card and receiver join. Or does the reciever have a fitment that will prevent this happening? |

As I said in my previous post, they are inherently more fragile, the joint between receiver and SD Card interface is weak and would not take much abise before failing.
Were they to make it stronger it would risk damage to the SD slot instead which could be much worse than a broken receiver! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanx Darren, you would think that the receiver would have a means of securing it to the PDA so that it becomes integral and no stress is placed on either the slot or the unit itself. Such is life. |
