POI ICONS and other questions please

Hi all

I noticed many of the icons on my TOM TOM are pink box with a black asterisk. I would like to change these please BUT HOW?

Also I noticed that some POI such as Post Offices are in wrong location. There are some i need to delete and some i need to add.

Any help here please.

BTW I have added some post offices but again they come up in a pink box with black asterisk. I need to change them.

Any help would be appreciated.

1) pink icon: I think it's rather yellowish, but that's not relevant. Once you created your own POI category, TomTom will automatically create that default icon for the new POI Group. You find the file in the map directory.

Feel free to replace it with an icon of your liking, but make sure to use ONLY 256 color BMPs

2) Add/Replace POIs: This is a no-no. You cannot remove POIs that came with the map. NEVER! So if you see a post office in a wrong location - tough luck. All you can do is hide ALL post offices and use your own custom post office POI collection.

I know, it sounds stupid, but that's the policy between TeleAtlas and TomTom. There's way too much money involved to consider customer input/changes. TomTom and TeleAtlas (and NAVTEQ etc) simply ignore the fact that a POI collection is obsolete as soon as it is pressed on a CD.

sure. Whereever there is a POI collection there must also be the icons. For example here http://pocketgpsworld.com/tomtompoi.php

But isn't it much more fun to create your own?
