Hi

Can anyone tell me if there is a product that will set the Pocket PC clock to the correct time using a GPS receiver, rather than manually having to set the correct time through [Settings/Clock].

TIA

septic;)

TomTom started doing this with the GO, so it's rather only a question of time (no pun intended) until the others follow.

Remember that timezones are no easy beast - you need to store a lot of coordinate data (for the time zone area borders) as well as calendar data (for when daylight savings time starts and stops. And then all these exceptions where parts of countries don't care about DST and others have a half hour shift etc.

TomTom GO "elegantly" only synchronized the minutes and seconds, you have to correct the hour manually.

I don't know about for the pocket PC but there are plenty for the PC. I used one a while back called Tardis, which also syncs to internet time servers and so on.

The ones for the PC still ask you to specify your time zone. On the other hand this information is also available on the Pocket PC.

Now what do you expect to happen when you cross time zones? When you use GPS you are normally moving ;-) I had that recently in the Canadian Rockies where we went back and forth between Mountain and Pacific multiple times . Is it acceptable to specify the time zone manually?

The PC ones picked up the TimeZone from the regional settings. If you continuously swap time zones then it's your own fault Laughing
