Hi folks,
I’m wondering if anyone can help me solve this problem. I just purchased a Haicom HI-303S for use with my HP IPAQ 2210 running Pocket PC 2003. I had intended to use the GPS with the current version of Routis I own. For some reason, I can not get Routis to detect my GPS. When I run the GPS software from Haicom, it shows me connected to several satellites and the LED is fixed. The Com port sets to COM 0 CF_CARD-GENERIC and I am not able to set the GPS to any other port. Routis only allows ports 1-9 and when I try an auto detect, it does not find the GPS.
I’m at my wits end with this thing. I had horrible luck using my RoyalTek blue tooth GPS with the IPAQ as the Bluetooth dropped the connection to often to be reliable. But, that GPS worked fine with Routis. I’m about to give up on using my PDA for navigation in the car, as I can’t seem to find anything that works. If anyone out there can tell me what I’m doing wrong, and it fixes the problem I will gladly give them the spare 64MB SD card I have. I am serious!
Thanks!

You could try to install GPSGate and redirect COM0 to a port that Routis understands. _________________ Lutz

COM 6 or 7 (can't remember which) is usually the CF card COM port, so if yours has jumped to COM 0 it's because something else is using it. You probably have a driver installed that if you uninstall will allow you to use COM6 (or 7) once you've done a soft reset.
You can tell by downloading WinFast Navigator under Leadtek Tools on our downloads page because when you try to connect to the GPS you will get a list of com ports and what it thinks is assigned to it. It maybe that you have a keyboard installed with driver, or some other app. |
