I've had lots of problems with GPS accuracy. For example when driving along the M3 it will often pick up side roads, and then I get annoucement after announcement telling me to turn left... turn right... turn around, despite the fact I'm on the M3. TomTom doesn't have this, despite being rubbish at other things.

It got so bad I've defected to Navigon, which so far doesn't seem to suffer the problem either, so clearly it's a problem with the algorithm that CoPilot uses for GPS location vs. road.

I have the same problem on my stretch of the M3 (Fleet/ Frimley area). I wasn't sure if it was due to the quickclear windscreen on my Mondeo, somehow blocking the GPS signal.

Navigon hasn't been perfect either, having done a few tests. But I'm sure it's better than Co-Pilot.

Yay iPhone keyboard with QWERTY at long last.

Routing seems better too.

Wiped out my custom routing profiles, won't show current position on the map unless you are moving over 5MPH in 3D mode and if you mute all the key click sounds it doesn't stop all of them, just the main screen menu taps don't have an audio beep - looks like a work in progress to me even if the keyboard is much improved - Mike

Update doesn't include text to speech even though the North America version got this weeks ago. Why might that be?

Did they fix the routing profile save only allowing the letter 't' ?

Yes. This seems to be Ok now

1 issue I have is the inability with the new keyboard to set a cost for the price of fuel properly. There is no ability to set a decimal point

I fins the app is much snappier on my 3G. The standard keyboard is great (other than the above issue)

Routing so far seems to be no diffrent for me so have had to set up a profile

One question. Once on a route and you want to do a quick review of the route your on. How can this be done. There seems to be no quick way. I have to go to, menu, plan/edit trip, show route which then recalcluates. There maust be an easier way. A button on the tools menu would be good

I don't have this problem, it locates me just fine when not moving.

Locating is improved as well - I don't end up shown on sideroads when I travel on the M3.

Definitely quicker as well, and I like the larger button when navigating to a favourite (something Navigon could learn from).

I also like the Work favourite with Co-Pilot, although that's nothing new.

Roll on Traffic, assuming they do a decent job of it...

Co-Pilot could learn from Navigon's iPod controls...

Grabbed this from the copilot website:

Coming in future updates:

* In-app purchases for premium Live services
* Access to iPod controls and playlists from CoPilot
* Additional GPS performance improvements
* Text to speech voice instructions (premium option)
* User control to dim or switch-off music during voice instructions
* ClearTurn enhanced junction display in portrait
* Further enhancements based on customer feedback

Looks like you will have to pay for the premium service to get text to speech!

i have a way around this: set all your favourites as iphone contacts then, whichever app you use or whatever updates lose them you can still get your favourite addresses via the contacts list Very Happy.

Thanks MaFt. Funnily enough that's just what I did just before your reply!
