Please note "One (Vx)" where x is a number is the version number that TomTom Home software will identify the device as, this is not necessarily the version numbers used by TomTom or their retailers.

Thanks, I will try and sort out the other images that have gone AWOL since I started to put this together a while ago, you never know users might finally be able to work out which One they have got! - Mike |

A picture's worth a thousand words
Can I just suggest you emphasise that the "V" numbers you are using are NOT what the UK retailers call them, but how TT "Home" refers to them when you connect the machine to the PC (and as you know TT themselves tend not to use the "v" numbers at all in their advertising or customer support literature).
In my list above and in all my posts, I've used small "v" for the Home IDs and big "V" for the retailers... not perfect by any means, but one small step.
BTW... You've let a spurious "One" creep in at the end. The latest "XL" model is just that.... no "one" in the name at all. |

Thanks for pointing that out Andy, I have altered the original post to reflect the changes you suggested and removed the "Extra One" - Mike |

I have a ONE v4 EasyPort mount(v8).
TomTom also seem to refer to this model as the ONE 30 Series. |

Am I right, that TomTom does not use SiRF anymore? |

I think that some of TT models use Broadcom Chips now. |

If you search the specs on the TT website, all it says is "Highly sensitive GPS chipset" _________________ Gee-Pee

Yes, in yet another feat of confusion and obfuscation, TomTom have recently been re-selling the old "3rd Edition", badged as the "Classic".... even though the original 'One' is known as the Classic by everyone else!
As fir the Latest Map Guarantee, give them a call on 0845 161 0009 and ask them to assign the new map to your account (make sure it is a new account for this machine, not any previous account you might have). |

I just purchased a new 'TomTom ONE Classic Europe' and it says it's a 3rd edition (1Gb) (4N01.002) on the base. I used TomTom HOME version 2.6 and asked it to check that the maps were up to date. It checked and found there was a newer version and download and installed with no problems. _________________ Dave R (h5djr)
