 We have been contemplating adding RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feeds to the forums for some time now. Last time we tried it on the old server it had some serious performance implications.
Well we have a new server now with a lot more get up and go. So we have trailed the RSS feeds on certain forums and see what the impact is on the server and its resources.
Over the last few weeks the we have been testing it has worked well and doesn't seem to adversely affect performance. (Famous last words) We have therefore rolled it our to all our forums.
We will of course be monitoring the server performance of the next few weeks to see how things hold up but early indications are positive.
