"By joining forces with TomTom, HP is bringing its Pocket PC leadership experience to the personal navigation systems market,” said Rob Idink, Director of HP’s handheld business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "The result is a complete in-car navigation solution that offers customers great value."

TomTom Navigator is an affordable and flexible solution to a familiar problem – how to get from A to B. It offers essential navigation features such as voice-guided directions, 3-D views and extensive points of interest to provide business and leisure travellers with everything they need to make their journey easier and safer. With TomTom Navigator, you always know where you are and where you are going. TomTom’s unique car-mounting kit is an added bonus, allowing users to securely position their Pocket PC in their vehicle for easy viewing of on-screen directions, and to ensure its battery is kept charged.

HP‘s iPAQ h1940 is a stylish and powerful Pocket PC. With Bluetooth technology built in, it can communicate with the TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver without the need for wires, making it a neat and tidy in-car solution. It can also be used outside of the car if the final navigation stage has to be completed on foot.

At just 12.8mm thin, the HP iPAQ h1940 offers a super-slim form factor and the lightest weight in the industry of just 124gr. Other features include a secure digital input/output (SDIO) expansion slot for additional storage options, a removable battery, HP‘s exclusive iPAQ Image Viewer for viewing images and creating slide shows, and built-in Bluetooth capability.

The TomTom Navigation Pack will be available from 3 October from selected major European retailers.
