A former South Australian police officer has formed a political party based around the speed cameras debate. The officer, Owen Godfrey, who previously served on the force for 15 years, has plans to run at the South Australian state election.

He heads up the "No Speed Cameras Party" and hopes to end the use of speed cameras as "revenue raisers".

The party currently has 60 registered members out of a total of 250 that is necessary to run for the Upper House at the state election next March.
