ALK, authors of the CoPilot range of navigation software have announced new features designed to help drivers avoid congestion, anticipated as a result of the Olympics, this summer.

CoPilot will alert drivers if a planned route includes restricted roads, including roads within the Olympics Route Network (ORN), a network of roads linking competition venues and accommodation. Some of these roads will have limited access, modified turns and other restrictions during the event.

CoPilot will allow routes to be calculated that completely avoid the ORN if desired and their ActiveTraffic service will be monitoring congestion and offering the best route based on traffic conditions.

These features will be made available in ALK's apps for iPhone, iPad and Android via a free app update in early summer 2012. For more information see www.copilotlive.com.
