10 Million Passwords Compromised at Trapster

 Oops! Overlooking the 10-million user hype for a moment, Trapster, a speed camera reporting service based in the US has notified users that its member database has been compromised and email addresses and passwords may have been obtained.
Trapster told users that it "has been the target of a hacking attempt, and it is possible that your email address and password were compromised."
Remedial action has now been taken to prevent attacks of this kind from reoccurring but if the 10-million figure is true, it puts the compromise of 1-million user-accounts at Gawker Media, publishers of Gizmodo, to shame.
PocketGPSWorld members can be assured that we have measures in place and that we do not hold any personal financial information, bank account or credit/debit card details on our servers.
Now, as for that 10-million figure, that would bear close scrutiny even for a service as boastful as Trapster. But we'll let the dust die down before we start questioning the validity of that number.
