 TomTom have updated the App description in the Appstore to add support for the iPod Touch and iPhone 2G.
With the release of v1.2 of TomTom's iPhone app, Touch and iPhone 2G users can now install the app.
As the Touch and 2G iPhone lack a GPS receiver the app will not provide location or turn-by-turn guidance unless used with a TomTok car kit.
For Touch users they will require the new iPod Touch specific TomTom car kit priced at £79.95 but TomTom need to make this a lot clearer. At present the appstore page makes no mention of there being two different car kits available.
However this is great news for owners who want to add turn-by-turn guidance to their devices without buying a 3G or 3GS iPhone.
