 Cambridgeshire's SafetyCam Partnership are in the news once again. They featured last month when we posted news of their decision to upgrade their vans and go blue rather than white.
Now they have announced they plan to target speeding motorists on roads where there has been no history of serious collisions or injuries.
The announcement follows a survey they conducted which asked members of the public if they would like to see camera vans used in areas which were not black spots. The survey had a less then resounding response with some 520 people responding, 330 of which were in favour.
So in light of this perhaps Cambridgeshire Safety Camera Partnership will consider a change of name, after all we've always known these so called safety cameras have little to do with safety and a lot to do with revenue raising.
