TomTom Partner with Renault Carminat for Clio SatNav

Speed Cameras, GPS, SatNavs Renault have this morning announced the first of their factory fit Carminat TomTom systems produced in partnership with TomTom.

TomTom announced back in September 2008 that they were partnering with Renault to produce TomTom Carminat branded factory fit integrate navigation systems for Renault and the first in the line is a solution for the Clio range.

Dubbed as the 'first fully integrated and affordable GPS navigation solution' it is expected to cost a very reasonable €500, has a 5.8in screen with LIVE connectivity, traffic and speed limit information (traffic via RDS-TMC) as well as speed camera locations.

As this is a built-in system it does not have a touch screen but instead utilises Renault's 'Central Command' system for access. Crucially the device can be updated using TomTom HOME via a removable SD Card.
