TomTom HOME 2.2 Released

TomTom have just announced that v2.2 of their HOME application has been released today. It will be made available using AutoUpdate from within your existing HOME installation. It will also be available later today via the website for download.
There are Map Share enhancements as well as a feature that allow users to share their own content.
- User content creation
- Easy content download – just select like any other content
- Voting – to see what the community thinks is hot and what’s not.
- User generated content shows up under the list of TomTom content.
Specific content that can be shared includes:
- POI’s and proximity warning tones
- Routes/itineraries
- Voices
- Car icons
- Start up and suspend pictures
- Map overlays/imagery
- Color schemes
- Arrival sounds
- Speed warning sounds
- Ringtones
- Incoming message tones
TomTom HOME 2.2 will be available in both Windows and Mac versions.
Much of this functionality is to be welcomed but it does once again bring to the fore TomTom's commitment to the existing user communities and web-sites. Many of the features now included in HOME have long since been available on community sites but TomTom seem determined to exclude us and that is a worrying trend. Biting the hand that feeds it is never good business!
