News: QinetiQ, Collins Partnership Pursues New GNSS Receiver
QinetiQ has won a £67m contract from the UK's Ministry of Defence (MoD) to develop a new multi-constellation satellite receiver.
The UK's Robust Global Navigation System (R-GNS) has been instigated to provide the UK with accurate and resilient positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) when the global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are becoming increasingly vulnerable to attacks through jamming and spoofing.
By taking signals from multiple navigation networks the company says it "will enable secured navigation ensuring that users and platforms (increasingly including autonomous land, maritime, air and weapons systems) will be able to navigate accurately, robustly, and safely".
