News: US To Test Huge GPS Jammer Over California

pocketgpsworld.com
The FAA (US Federal Aviation Authority) has released documents stating they are carrying out a number of GPS-jamming exercises over the next few weeks above California. The affected area is a 'cone' with a radius of around 200miles at 50ft increasing to over 400 miles at 10,000ft - the assumption is this is some kind of airborne jammer. Little information is available but with GPS-jamming becoming easier, it could be part of a test to counteract jamming methods.

This will obviously cause disruption to flights in and around California and the scheduled dates are 7th, 9th, 21st, 23rd, 28th, 30th Jun 2016 between 0930 and 1530 (PT).
