News: Next two Galileo satellites arrive in French Guiana

pocketgpsworld.com
The ninth and tenth Galileo satellites have arrived at Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.

Scheduled for launch in September, the two satellites travelled by air across the Atlantic in climate controlled containers following the completion of readiness testing at OHB in Bremen, Germany.

The satellites have now been transferred to the Spaceport and unloaded in a clean room to begin preparation for their launch. They will become No's 5 and 6 of the Full Operational Capability versions with two more in testing at Bremen.

Fourteen more are being constructed with the navigation payload coming from Surrey Satellite Technology in Guildford, UK.
